Visit of the General Council to the Province of Central America-Cuba

V eventWednesday, 03 July 2024

In October, Sisters Sandra and Isabelle, General Councilors, together with Rekha Chennattu, the Superior General, visited the Communities that make up the Province.

The Sisters share what this meant for them:

“It was like Pentecost - an experience of the Spirit Who came to renew our commitment, a pause on our journey, a moment in which God spoke to us through Rekha who presented several calls to us: knowing ourselves to be women loved by God, chosen by Him to form communities of love, letting ourselves be seized each day by this love of God in Whom our life, our Yes, our daily  commitment is founded , to allow ourselves to be transformed by His Spirit Who recreates us daily and Who invites us to build fraternity in the Community, to experience a change of mentality so as to accept each other as Sisters, knowing that we are all perfect in and from His love and tenderness.  In other words, the invitation, to journey in the Love of God and , in everything, to seek  to do only what pleases Him.

“It is God Who nourished our land and makes the life and the passion for the Kingdom in each one spring forth.”

“It has renewed us in freedom, simplicity, transparency and joy.”

Community of Cumanayagua, Cuba

“We have opened our hearts and have shared with them our life and work, allowing ourselves to be enlightened by their words that invite us to passionately continue extending God’s Kingdom.”

Community of Leon, Nicaragua

“Like a refreshing breeze, like a balm that renews and fills us with hope.  It was like a “Bethlehem” wherein, together with Jesus, we opened our hearts to welcome His message through our Sisters.

It left in our hearts gratitude to God and to the Congregation through the light that gave us joy, happiness and peace.

It also left us with personal and communitarian challenges as well as desires to put into action what we received.”

Community of La Palmera, Nicaragua

“It has been an experience of profound gratitude to God for the visit of our Sisters and for the GRACE of being the gateway to the heart of the Province.  The visit has been accompanied by the Holy Spirit manifested by closeness, fraternity and  attentive listening.  It was a time to reread and share the quests, desires, hopes for our life and mission.

This VISIT impels us to renew our gaze, to be the presence of God, to continue weaving our life and mission in the light of the Gospel, giving life to the calls of the Congregation and the Province in the reality in which we are inserted.”
