We held our AMA Orientation in early September with four women who will be serving in our volunteer sites. The first night we shared a BBQ with the Sisters at the Assumption Center in Worcester, MA. Each one brought an item from their hometown to share with the Sisters, from donuts to chocolates! It was a great way to get to know about each person and where they were from. The women will be spread out this year. We have one going to Chaparral, NM to join an AMA who has been serving there since April. Kids Kabin received one in Newcastle, and two young women will be going to L'Arche, Cork, Ireland, one this month and one in January. Sr. Nuala provided a very informative and fun session on the benefits of keeping a journal. She has developed a handy booklet for the AMAs to take with them to their service site. The women shared how much they enjoyed learning about the process, and I think they plan to give the practice a try this coming year! Please keep our volunteers in your prayers!
