Provincial Chapter of Central Africa

P eventTuesday, 21 January 2025

From December 28 to 31, 2024, we gathered at the Mother Teresa Emmanuel Novitiate in Kinshasa (DRC) to celebrate our Provincial Chapter of Central Africa. These were intense days, filled with prayer, reflection, and discernment, during which we traced the path we wish to follow together over the next six years as a province.

We began with a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Father Christian, a Jesuit, who helped us prepare spiritually for our work. It was a moment of grace that allowed us to center ourselves and open our hearts to the Spirit, seeking together what is best for our mission and community.

During the chapter, we shared our reflections and engaged in deep dialogue about the challenges we face. The decisions we made, born of this spirit of communion, have given us clarity and strength to face the future with hope and determination.

On December 31, at the conclusion of our work, we experienced a moment of great joy during Vespers: the entrance into the novitiate of our two young women, Hortence Marie and Benedicte Thérèse. Their generous “yes” fills us with gratitude and encourages us to continue walking with confidence, knowing that God continues to call new generations to follow Him.

This chapter has been much more than a planning space for us; it has been a time of encounter, spiritual renewal, and confirmation of our shared commitment. We leave with full hearts and the certainty that the Lord is guiding our steps in this new stage that we are beginning together.
