The Feast of Corpus Christi is an invitation to take part in the Eucharist, the Day of Charity. It is to receive Communion with Jesus and to become bread that is broken and shared with our brothers and sisters. This year’s Corpus Christi celebration holds special significance, as it is marked by the Jubilee of Hope.
We are called to set out on a journey and identify ourselves with His mission. Every experience is a gift from God, and we are called to share it in order to bring renewed hope to our realities.
The Body of Christ is offered to us as the only nourishment capable of bringing peace in the face of so much violence. It is also offered as both food and an example for our active commitment to the world.
We must seek hope, strive to attain it, and find it in people who love, who help, who share generously, and who are moved by the pain and suffering of others. In this light, hope becomes impossible to lose.
Let us pray for others and with others, so that we may discover Jesus Christ.
