On February 3rd, the Vatican hosted the World Summit of Leaders on the Rights of the Child, a key event that brought together religious, political, and social representatives from across the globe. Under the theme “Love them and protect them”, the summit issued an urgent call to renew our commitment to children in every sphere: cultural, educational, and spiritual.
Pope Francis opened the gathering with a clear and direct message: children are not numbers, but faces, stories, and dreams. In his speech, he stressed that the true measure of a society’s progress lies in how it treats its children. His address was followed by presentations from experts and global leaders who shared alarming data and concrete proposals to secure children’s rights on a global scale.
The summit concluded with the release of a summary booklet containing key speeches, figures, and proposed actions. This document is a vital resource for all educational communities seeking to build a Glocal Educational Pact focused on respect, listening, and the protection of every child.
