In an emotional encounter with students in the Paul VI Hall, Pope Leo XIV encouraged young people to live boldly, cultivating faith, education, and peace.
Addressing the audience, he recalled the life of Pier Giorgio Frassati, canonized this year, and his inspiring phrases: “To live without faith is not to live, but to survive” and “Toward the heights!”. The Pontiff urged young people not to settle for the superficial, but to dream and actively commit to building a better society.
The Pope highlighted three major educational challenges:
Education for the inner life, fostering silence, listening, and prayer.
Digital education, using technology and artificial intelligence responsibly and creatively, following the example of Saint Carlo Acutis.
Education for peace, promoting equality and respect among all young people, leaving no one behind.
Using the imagery of stars and constellations, Leo XIV reminded that each young person is a light which, joined with others, can illuminate the path to the future. “Do not look at shooting stars; look toward Jesus, the Sun of Justice, who will always guide you,” he concluded.
The meeting reinforces the importance of the Global Educational Pact, launched five years ago, as a path to unite educators and young people in true universal fraternity. https://www.vatican.va/content/leo-xiv/en/events/event.dir.html/content/vaticanevents/en/2025/10/30/giubileo-studenti.html
