March 19, 2025: Students, Parents, and Teachers Celebrate Their Patron: Saint Joseph
The celebration of the Solemnity of Saint Joseph began with the Holy Mass at 7:45 AM. At 10:00 AM, the "Tsidika" took place—a tradition specific to the inhabitants of Ambohimahasoa, where guests bring offerings such as rice and money as a symbol of festivity and shared joy.
The "Tsidika" was carried out in two phases: secondary school students participated in the morning, while primary and kindergarten students joined after lunch. Later, students gathered to share their meals in a spirit of camaraderie, and for the younger ones, their parents were also invited to take part.
The celebrations continued in the afternoon with a basketball match between alumni and teachers from 3:30 PM to 4:45 PM. At 5:00 PM, the "Gala Evening" began, once again featuring the participation of former students.
It was a day filled with emotions and joy. Parents were proud to see their children dressed in their traditional cultural attire and practicing the customs of their region. The entire event was organized to raise funds for the construction of a grand hall in commemoration of the centenary of Saint Joseph School in Ambohimahasoa.
