Now in their fourth year at Tân Nghĩa Parish, the Assumption Sisters continue to live the charism of transformative education through pastoral and outreach activities. In close collaboration with the parish, they accompany youth, migrants, and vulnerable families, sharing Gospel values so that Christ may be known and loved.
The Sisters give special attention to families repatriated from Cambodia who now live along the Thala River. They support children with school supplies and create joyful moments through celebrations of the Mid-Autumn Festival, Christmas, and Tet. They also extend benefactors' generosity by providing essential groceries to families in need.
A highlight of their mission was the “Zero-Cost Supermarket” organized before Tet. In Vietnam, Tet is a season filled with joy and hope, eagerly awaited by all. Whether rich or poor, young or old, everyone looks forward to the sacred moment of the Lunar New Year. Tet is also a time of sharing and compassion, when people come together so that every family may welcome the new year with joy.
In this spirit, the Assumption Sisters, together with the parish priest and the Mothers’ Association, organized the “Zero-Cost Supermarket,” offering clothes and essential goods free of charge to those in need and delivering food to struggling families. This initiative became a meaningful sign of love, solidarity, and hope.
Tet—so rich in human love, so full of God’s love—truly reflects the mission they live each day. As Saint Marie Eugénie beautifully expressed: “The earth is the place of God’s glory.”
