Province of Rwanda-Chad: Day of Solidarity at Notre-Dame de l'Assomption Lycée-Collège

P eventTuesday, 30 June 2026

At the Notre-Dame de l'Assomption Lycée-Collège (LCNDA), a day of solidarity, an expression of generosity, is one of the annual activities that characterize a formation of tempered character allowing the students and teachers of LCNDA to let their hearts speak. This activity is therefore in keeping with the school's educational project and is now in its umpteenth edition. In this school year 2025-2026, the Lycée-Collège had planned a visit to the surrounding neighborhoods.

On the morning of Saturday, 16 May 2026, representatives from the different classes gathered together with several educators to go and offer some gifts to people in difficult situations around the establishment. In total, eight (08) families were identified thanks to the collaboration of the CARITAS team and especially the leaders of the Basic Ecclesial Communities of the parish of Saints Felicity and Perpetua of Atrone II.

These gifts consisted mainly of food supplies made up of bags of rice, containers of oil, soap, mats, sheets, and other items. It should be noted that these gifts were gathered thanks to the individual efforts of the students, who contributed through financial collections and donations in kind for the occasion.

Testimonies gathered from both students and beneficiaries express compassion and emotion. The students understood the need to help these people who live in hardship, and felt touched to the depths of their hearts by the vulnerability and poverty of the people visited.

As for the beneficiaries, they did not hide their satisfaction. Some shed tears over this act of solidarity.

This activity took place over more than two hours in a climate of joy, attentiveness, and fraternity. It is a good experience for the students to go to the periphery and witness the realities of certain families.
