Jubilee of Hope: El Palo Community of Elder Sisters
The pilgrimage was born from a desire of the Sisters to gain the Jubilee at the Cathedral. We began taking the necessary steps to fulfill that wish.
We submitted our request to the Dean and, with the agreement of Pablo, our chaplain, we organized the outing. Some sisters went by taxi, others by bus, with a wheelchair included. The pilgrimage was made up of the nurses and the community; we also had the joy of being accompanied by friends who usually join our celebrations.
Before the Eucharist, we had a short introduction in the Patio de los Naranjos, which helped us prepare for what we were about to experience. Then we entered the Cathedral in procession, singing. We celebrated the Eucharist in a very warm, close, and beautiful atmosphere. We were all very happy.
After a stroll along calle Larios, we returned home to continue the celebration together with a meal that had been prepared in advance, so that most of the staff could attend. It was a very rewarding experience for everyone present.
