The relics of Saint Marie Eugénie in the new altar of Notre Dame de Paris

On December 8th, 2024, during the celebration in honour of the reopening of Notre Dame de Paris, the relics of five saints linked to the Church of Paris will be sealed into the new altar when it will be consecrated: Sainte Marie Eugénie Milleret, Sainte Madeleine Sophie Barat, Sainte Catherine Labouré, Saint Charles de Foucauld and Blessed Vladimir Ghika. From now on, Saint Marie Eugénie will be present at the very heart of this place where she was seized by God's call: ‘The first signs of my vocation appeared under the arches of Notre-Dame during the conferences of 1836... the desire to consecrate myself to God's cause and to the Church, without knowing where or how...’’. (Letter to Father Picard, no. 1509, 8 November 1862) In that place, she decided to give her whole life for Christ. In this place, she understood that intelligence, faith and deeds are the 3 dimensions of the same vocation, the same love. She leads us in her footsteps as we rejoice with the Assumption of Heaven and Earth!
