The Resurrected Mother Earth: Caring for Creation in Eastertide

T eventWednesday, 06 May 2026

"The Resurrected Mother Earth: Caring for Creation in Eastertide" expresses a deep conviction: the Resurrection of Christ concerns not only the spiritual life of the human being, but also touches all of creation. In this Eastertide, the Church is invited to rediscover the beauty of the world as a work of God called to renewal. Thus, caring for the Earth becomes a concrete act of faith, a Christian response to current ecological challenges, and a sign of hope for the future.

From this perspective, integral ecology is not a matter of theoretical discourse, but of daily praxis. It is embodied in the ordinary gestures of family, professional, and social life, where responsibility towards creation becomes a concrete expression of faith. Within the "GSNDA RWAZA" school, this dynamic manifests itself notably through community activities, locally known as "UMUGANDA", during which teachers, sisters, support staff, and students collaborate for the maintenance and improvement of the environment.

It is in this spirit that the collective commitment of the educational community is to be understood, illustrated by these moments of shared work in which each person contributes to the common good and to the preservation of the living environment. This cooperation bears witness to an integrated vision of the relationship between faith, service, and ecological responsibility. It aligns with the spiritual intuition of Marie Eugénie de Jésus, for whom the transformation of society passes concretely through a life inspired and guided by the Gospel.

Through these initiatives, a genuine pedagogy of responsibility takes shape, in which young people learn not only to protect their environment, but also to develop a profound sense of respect for life and the common good. By actively engaging in these concrete actions, they become agents of change, bearers of a renewed hope for their community and for the world. This integral formation contributes to the emergence of a generation conscious of ecological challenges and animated by evangelical values.

Finally, Eastertide appears as an invitation to renew our gaze upon creation and to rekindle our commitment in its favor. In the image of the Risen Christ who makes all things new, every gesture of care towards the Earth becomes a sign of life and resurrection. Thus, by uniting faith and action, the educational community of "GSNDA RWAZA" bears witness that it is possible to build a harmonious future, in which humanity and nature live in communion, in respect and gratitude towards the Creator.
