Indian Province had the 27th Provincial Chapter from 2nd September to 4th September 2021. It was a very remarkable one for the province with the new Provincial team and the reelection of Sr. Smitha Maliakal as our Provincial.
The installation of Sr. Smitha started with an opening Liturgy organized by Sr. Celine Mathew the Superior of Provincial Community. We thanked God for all her hard work and contribution done by her team for the progress of the province. There was a short felicitation Program for her. Sr. Jaya gave the felicitation speech on this occasion and Sr. Vimla gave the farewell speech to the outgoing counselors Srs. Jaya Mathew, Shanti Pazhettu, Annie Konnackal.
We thanked the Almighty Father for His abundant blessings upon our Province.
We were extremely happy with the very presence of our Superior General Rev. Sr. Rekha Chennattu with us for the nomination processes along with Sr. François her secretary. Sr. Mercy, the Superior of Pandripani community gave a very warm welcome speech for Srs. Rekha and Francois. We are grateful to Sr. Rekha and Sr. Francois for giving their precious time. The community members got the chance to participate in the welcome program of Sr. Rekha and François.
We spent time in silence and prayer before the installation of our new counselors. Our new counselors are Srs. Rashmi Dabre, Lissy Antony and Geeta Prayikalam. We are happy that they can complement each other as young, enthusiastic, zealous, committed and competent ones to support her in the progress of our Province. We have a lot of hope and trust in them. We congratulated the new provincial team by giving them colorful bouquets even though it was a virtual meeting.
There was a time kept to wish the Jubilarians of this year Sr. Tessy Parappuram (50years), Srs. Sheela, Shanty and Preeti (25 years).
Without the presence of Assumption Together members, the meeting cannot be complete. We were very happy to welcome four AT leaders - Mrs. Rose Thomas National Co-ordinator, Mrs. Mariamma Animator of Calicut community, Moris d’ Silva the Animator of Rajody community and Mr. James Mathew Animator of Vithalwadi community. Their sharing was based on the theme their faith experience during the pandemic was very much personal and very inspiring.
Our Provincial chapter finished on 4th September. Sr. Alice Toppo gave vote of thanks.
