At the initiative of the coordinating team of EnREDaLA (Latin American Network of Assumption Schools), a virtual gathering was organized where students and teachers from our sister schools had the opportunity to listen to and engage in dialogue with six alumni.
Each of them represented not only their country (and their school), but more importantly, the beauty of Assumption's transformative education—and how they have brought it to life through their respective professions. The testimony of each former student renews our mission, giving it momentum and meaning.
It is clear that, across different countries and contexts, the Assumption identity and charism remain the same and unite us in a great family dedicated to building the Kingdom of God each day in tangible, everyday actions—bearing fruits of fraternity and Gospel life.
The participating alumni were:
Guatemala
Mónica Beatriz Cordón Salguero
Lawyer and Notary
Nicaragua
Martha Nicaragua
Radiologist
Ecuador
Gino Chiang
Environmental Engineer and Humanitarian Worker at UN Migration
Mexico
Martha Arrieta Canales
Medical Doctor specialized in Social Medicine
El Salvador
Claudia Raquel Solano Ortiz
Lawyer
Brazil
José Octavio Moniz
Hospitality Manager
After hearing their powerful testimonies, students were divided into six breakout rooms, where they had the chance to get to know them better, ask questions, share experiences, and strengthen bonds of identity and hope.
There is no doubt that belonging to this Assumption family is both a blessing and a commitment. Let us continue building the Kingdom together, united in a spirit of synodality.
