The Dream of the Assumption: a charism for today’s world

T eventSunday, 16 November 2025

Yesterday as today, social challenges are many and varied. Saint Marie Eugénie, in her time, faced a society marked by profound crises such as social inequalities, political shifts, and progressive secularization. She cherished a deep dream: to make Jesus Christ known and loved through an education meant to transform. This is why she affirmed: “My gaze is entirely on Jesus Christ and on the extension of His Kingdom.”

In this month of November, we commemorated on the 9th the celebration of the first Eucharist at the Assumption. We recall with strong hope that Christ dwells in our House to enliven it and transform it, so that it may carry life into the world; so that His Kingdom may come within us and around us. This centrality of Christ in our life rekindles awareness of the dignity of every human person.

Today, the issues have evolved, but certain echoes remain: social and ecological crises; individualism and loss of reference points; technology and ethics… The Religious of the Assumption continue to hold high the torch of faith, working toward a more just and fraternal society. Through our entire way of life and through our various commitments, we wish to inspire and encourage those around us and our collaborators to work to humanize globalization and the digital revolution, reaffirming dignity, solidarity, and responsibility toward creation.
