Central Africa Province: Assumption Youth in Bafoussam Celebrate Christmas with Joy and a Spirit of Fraternity

C eventWednesday, 28 January 2026

The Assumption educational community in Bafoussam, Cameroon, celebrated Christmas in an atmosphere of joy, creativity, and deep fraternity, thanks to the active involvement of young people from the Assumption family.

Through songs, dances, short performances, and moments of shared fellowship, the youth expressed the true meaning of Christmas: the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, a source of hope and renewal for the entire community. The attentive presence of educators and youth leaders helped create an environment that was both joyful and educational, firmly rooted in Gospel values.

Celebrating Christmas in the Light of Saint Marie Eugénie of Jesus

This celebration draws inspiration from the spirituality of Saint Marie Eugénie of Jesus, founder of the Religious of the Assumption, who viewed education as a path to help individuals integrate faith, life, and commitment to the world. Her spiritual legacy continues to encourage the celebration of Christmas as a call to interior growth, service, responsibility, and openness to others.

In a context shaped by social and cultural challenges, the Assumption youth in Bafoussam bear witness to a joyful, creative, and committed faith, fostering community and hope.

The Congregation of the Religious of the Assumption warmly thanks the young people, educators, and community members for their dedication and encourages them to continue being witnesses of the Gospel and builders of fraternity.
