Opening Message - Read the opening message of the CGP by Sister Rekha Superior General of the Religious of the Assumption
The Province of Spain of the Religious of the Assumption will host the Plenary General Council which will bring together the Provincial Superiors of the 15 Provinces of the Congregation.
The Plenary General Council aims at strengthening the bonds which unite hearts and minds within the Congregation. In a spirit of discernment, it reviews the implementation of the decisions of the General Chapter. It draws the attention of the different provinces to the general good of the Congregation and of its mission, seen in the light of major world problems. Thus it assures the missionary vitality of the Congregation. It is also a place of formation.
Rule of Life of the RA 101
It will be inaugurated with a solemn Eucharist presided over by Cardinal Carlos Osoro, Archbishop of Madrid on March 1. The work will continue until March 31. The theme of the meeting is "The way of being of the Assumption. Restructuring and collaboration. It is folly not to be what one is as fully as possible (St. Marie Eugenie of Jesus)".
The meeting will be attended by the Superior General and her 4 Councillors, as well as 15 Provincial Superiors from the different Provinces of the Religious of the Assumption: Asia Pacific (Philippines, Vietnam, Japan, Thailand), India, East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania); West Africa (Ivory Coast, Niger, Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso and Guinea Bissau); Madagascar; Central Africa (Cameroon and Democratic Republic of Congo); Rwanda - Chad; Europe (England, Belgium, Lithuania and Italy); France; Spain; South Atlantic (Brazil and Argentina); Central America-Cuba (El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Cuba); Ecuador, USA and Mexico.
